Arrival in Arusha

We will pick you up at the airport and transfer you privately to your accommodation in Arusha. You will have the afternoon to relax by the pool and unwind from your long journey to Tanzania. If you arrive early and wish to add activities near Arusha, we can arrange those as well.

Day 2

Walking Safari at Arusha National Park

Kick off your safari experience with a truly unique day at beautiful Arusha National Park. Located just outside of Arusha town, this park is home to a large number of giraffes and offers beautiful views of green foliage at the slopes of nearby Mt. Meru.

An armed park ranger will lead the way as we walk through open fields where the local buffalo roam. The hike will culminate at the roughly 90ft tall Tululusia waterfall.

After your day in the park, we'll head back to Arusha for another evening at Arusha Planet Lodge.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park

Rise early to head to the often overlooked Tarangire National Park. On the drive, you'll see rolling plains, traditional thatched roof homes and acacia trees. Before you know it, you'll be in The Land of The Elephants.

In addition to massive elephant populations, Tarangire is also home to 1,000 year old baobab trees - sometimes known as "upside down" trees due to their unique appearance.

Spend the evening inside the park enjoying the beautiful view of the winding Tarangire River at Tarangire Safari Lodge. If you'd like, we can also arrange a night game drive at an additional cost.

Mto Wa Mbu

About an hour from Tarangire Safari Lodge is Mto Wa Mbu - a village of roughly 18,000 people from a variety of cultures within Tanzania. You'll have the opportunity to learn about these cultures, walk through markets, taste local foods, and see banana & rice fields.

After a truly unique experience, we will stay in nearby Karatu to stage for the drive to world famous Serengeti National Park in the morning.

Day 5

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, we head north for the Serengeti. Along the way, we will travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area - A vast park in which Maasai tribes are living alongside the great beasts of the African wild. We'll also drive by the Olduvai Gorge - one of the worlds most important archeological sites due to the discovery of the oldest evidence of human evolution. A stop at the museum can be arranged if you are interested.

Arriving in the afternoon, we'll have lunch and explore the Serengeti with an evening game drive. Then we'll head back to your lodge deep within the parks boundaries.

Day 8

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

In your final day in the Serengeti, you'll head south back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Your morning will be spent soaking in the wilderness on a game drive in your favorite areas or exploring new places. In the afternoon, you'll begin driving south through Maasai tribal villages while still spotting wildlife along the way. If you'd like, we can stop in to a Maasai village to take a look around and speak with the local people.

You'll end the day at rustic Rhino Lodge located at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater to prepare for your full day in the world famous caldera in the morning.

Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the UNESCO World Heritage Site to search for the critically endangered Black Rhino. Ngorongoro Crater is home to the highest concentration of these animals anywhere in the world and due to the unique landscape, they are highly protected against poaching.

The caldera floor is only about 10 miles x 12 miles in size and houses 25-30,000 large mammals.

After your day driving around the crater, you'll head out to nearby Tortilis tented camp in Lake Manyara National Park.

Arusha is the gateway to the world-famous Tanzanian safari circuit. As such, it is often the first and/or last stop on any itinerary. The park gate lies just 45 minutes from the city center and ishighlighted by incredible lush greenery and views of nearby Mt. Meru - or even Kilimanjaro on a clear day.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park can best be described as the Land of the Elephants. Over 1,000 square miles of unspoiled African wilderness are dotted with Baobab trees and Acacias. The Tarangire river meanders through the park and serves as the primary source of water for all the incredible wildlife that live here.

Serengeti National Park

Perhaps the most famous national park in the entire world - and with good reason. The Serengeti plains are the classic African safari experience and filled to the brim with wildlife. Ngorongoro Crater

Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Ngorongoro Conservation Area, this 100sq mile ancient volcano is home to its own miniature ecosystem. Few animals climb out of the 2,000 ft high rim walls. Around20 of those animals that stay year round are critically endangered Black Rhino - Making this the best place in the world to see these beautiful animals.
